Are you modifying or adding to `textadept.run.error_patterns` from your
*~/.textadept/init.lua* or another module? The format of that table
changed in 9.0, as mentioned in the upgrade guide.

Textadept uses Lua to launch Python. In this case there is an internal
error before the launch can happen, likely caused by a bad
`textadept.run.error_patterns` edit.
