An option to have a mini-status (either top or bottom) on a frame

Yes, SciTE does this now and it's a good thing. It's not a difficult
thing to do and in fact I did such a little hack for TA - need to find
it and test it again.

Again, SciTE's is a marvelous thing. Not a
difficult thing to do. And since people have preferences, it feels
like a feature that could be controlled by a flag you can set in your
init file.

OK, SciTE is a bit mad in this way, there are dozens of options, but
people are different ;)
